MANFRED SUTER
WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHER
Through the wilderness with my camera

For 35 years, nature has been my studio. What began as a hobby has long since become my greatest passion. For me, photography is not a job, but a true calling – a labour of love that currently takes me across southern Africa as a globetrotter.

In my work, I seek out the artistic moment: that special light, an unusual perspective, or a deep, unadulterated gaze. My aim is to create images that go beyond the purely documentary and encourage the viewer to pause and reflect.

Yet my images are meant to be more than just aesthetically pleasing. I want to raise awareness of the beauty and fragility of our planet. My commitment is deeply personal: thanks to my years of experience working with service dogs, the protection of the wilderness is particularly close to my heart.

The year 2025 marked a special milestone for me: using the proceeds from my image sales and lectures, I was able to sponsor an anti-poaching dog in Kruger National Park directly. It is my personal contribution to protecting those who have no voice of their own – a fusion of my professional roots with my current passion for African wildlife.
